Metal Prints FAQ

Will the print fade?

Metal prints have been frequently tested against some of the leading archival papers and consistently comes out on top. Quoted figures state that the print will last for 65+ years, however, it will probably last alot more. Exposing the print to constant direct sunlight is not generally recommended as it could shorten the lifespan.

How do I clean the Metal Print?

Metal prints are extremely durable, however, to keep the product always looking at it's best, please use a soft cloth, microfibre if possible and use with a NON ammonia based cleaner.

Are the Triptychs heavy?

The metal is thin enough to be extremely lightweight but yet sturdy and rigid. As a rough guide, 1 24x36 panel with backing hardware weighs about 8 pounds.

How are the Triptychs mounted on the wall?

Each panel comes with a float backing and can be mounted with a single picture hook. The package also comes with an easy to use template to assist lining the triptych up.

I am worried about glare. Can you supply the triptychs in a satin, non-glare finish?

Yes! The standard finish is a high gloss which gives a very rich and vibrant look. We can also use a satin finish which minimizes glare from sunlight and other sources. Please let us know if you would like this after placing your order.

The Photography

How do the images differ from normal photography?

All the images are taken using an extremely high resolution camera mounted to a robotic, computer controlled tripod. This allows the image to be taken in a series of tiles which ensures crystal clear clarity across the entire image without edge lens distortion or chromatic aberration. When you 'blow up' a standard photograph to these kind of sizes you also greatly magnify any edge fringing, noise and focus issues. This is not the case here as the resolution is so high resulting in an almost lifelike image similar to looking out of a window.
